Meet Linen House
Linen House has been designing homewares from Melbourne since 1993, and the house style is easy to pick: pattern used with confidence, textures you can feel from across the room, and colour that changes with the season rather than the decade.
The bedroom range covers quilt cover sets, sheets and pillowcases in cotton, bamboo blends and washed linen, with cushions and throws to layer over the top. Bathroom towels and table linen carry the same prints, so a look can run through the house without matching exactly.
The label also makes sleepwear and lingerie in the same soft cottons, plus a nursery range for cots and kids' rooms.
Linen House FAQs
What is the difference between cotton, bamboo and linen bedding?
Cotton is the all-rounder: soft, breathable and easy to wash. Bamboo viscose feels cooler and more slippery against the skin and moves moisture faster, which suits hot sleepers. Linen is woven from flax, so it starts crisp, softens with every wash and stays the most breathable of the three in New Zealand summers. The same fabrics run through women's Linen House and men's Linen House sleepwear.
How do I choose the right quilt cover size?
Match the quilt cover to your quilt, not your mattress. A queen quilt cover fits a queen quilt, and using a larger cover leaves the filling bunching at one end. If your quilt sits between two sizes, size up so it drapes over the sides of the bed. Cot and single sizing sits separately in nursery bedding and decor.
How many times should I wash new sheets before use?
One wash before first use is enough. It removes finishing residue from manufacturing and softens the weave. Wash warm rather than hot, and skip fabric softener on cotton and bamboo, since it coats the fibres and reduces absorbency over time.
