Founded by Californian climber and surfer, Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia was born as a spin-off of Chouinard Equipment, a small shop near the Rincon surf breaks in California, who were known for making some of the world’s best climbing gear. First released in 1995 and designed specifically for Patagonia's then-new surf category, the oval logo would later show up on everything from hats to fleece. Now screen-printed on the '95 Oval Logo Oversized T-Shirt, a roomy, relaxed-fit, short-sleeved tee that has longer sleeves, straight side seams and is wider through the chest and torso.
